Conference “Civil Security and Cooperation”
The Ukrainian Association of Defense and Security Industries (UADSI) was a co-organizer of the 15th Future Forces Forum, within the framework of which a three-day conference “Civil Security and Cooperation” took place.
From October 16–18, the 15th anniversary edition of the Future Forces Forum 2024 was held in Prague. The event took place under the auspices of the President of the Czech Republic, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Defense, and the Minister of the Interior, in close cooperation with the Czech Armed Forces and security services, NATO structures, the European Defence Agency, and other relevant organizations.
Delegations from over 60 countries regularly participate in FFF events.

Within the framework of the Forum, the UADSI organized a dedicated platform for Ukrainian manufacturers. For the first time, a three-day conference “Civil Security and Cooperation” was also held. The conference was attended by over 50 delegates representing various Ukrainian government institutions and civil society organizations.

At the request of guests of FFF-2024, the UADSI leadership organized a meeting between Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Major General Leonid Baran, Director of the State Border Guard Department, with the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel.

The conference was opened with a welcoming address by Vasyl Zvarych, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic. Following his speech, representatives of the State Border Guard Service (SBGS), the State Emergency Service (DSNS), and the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU) delivered their reports.

Information regarding assistance to Ukraine was presented by Tomáš Kopečný, Government Commissioner of the Czech Republic for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.

At the initiative of UADSI, representatives of the European Union also responded and actively participated, including:
- Alessandro Valdambrini, Deputy Head of Unit at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (ECHO)
- Monika Ladmanová, Head of the European Commission Representation in the Czech Republic
During their presentations and discussions, the EU representatives highly praised UADSI’s initiative to implement the timely program “Civil Security and Cooperation.” The concept of the program was officially presented to the EU officials.
The European officials unanimously supported the initiative and proposed to continue and expand it by organizing a series of similar events in EU countries, particularly in those sharing a border with Russia.

During the discussion, representatives of government institutions had the opportunity for direct communication with Mr. Alessandro Valdambrini and Ms. Monika Ladmanová.

Some of the questions addressed to the EU representatives came from Ukrainian border guards.

The Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic visited the Ukrainian platform for dual-use product manufacturers. Special attention was given to the drone manufacturer “Skyriper”, and a working meeting with the Armaments Department of the Czech Ministry of Defence was even proposed.
